Counseling for LGTBQ clients
Counseling support is available for topics of interest related to the LGBTQ community. Each of us, regardless of who we are, occasionally find ourselves in need support. Whether that support is from a professional or a trusted friend, it is important that the person be objective and that your happiness be a priority. Secondly, make sure it is someone with whom you can speak openly and honestly without fear of being judged or misunderstood. These qualities are necessary when forming a valuable therapeutic relationship.
Among the issues of concern most frequently discussed are the following:
The process of “coming out”
Curiosity and questions about bisexuality
Coming out to a straight spouse/partner
Sharing information with parents, family and friends
Coming out at work
Spouse/parent’s grieving a sense of loss
Questions relating to transsexuality
Whatever questions or concerns you have, experienced help and resources are available.
